Manny Cepeda

Bio:
Manny Cepeda began writing poems and composing music since the early age of 7.  His inspirations came as part of his musical legacy from his 5 generations of musicians from his mother’s side of the family, the “Cepeda” family and the famous Rafael Cepeda-Atiles.

His early songwriting skills date back from his first Salsa band formed out of his high school buddies, an orchestra called “Hommy Sanz’s Orchestra.”  There, Manny began writing in a much larger scale for trumpets, trombones, piano, bass and percussion.  His training in a special music high school of Music and Academics, “Escuela Libre de Music” in Puerto Rico, sharpened his musical development and launched his career as a Timbal player and Songwriter for this young Salsa Band.

Manny is well versed in not only the tropical music style but he has also written lyrics in Portuguese, and English.  His genres cross all boundaries of music with styles of Rhythm and Blues, Jazz, Bossa Novas, and Sambas.  His well-traveled career as a Navy Musician and bandleader helped him capture the essence of these styles and he can transport your senses to the most exotic places in the world with his sensual songwriting or bring you to the highest levels of euphoria with the spicy lyrics of his songs.

You are in for a treat as Manny’s music will captivate your senses and lures you into the hot tropics of the Caribbean or the smooth beaches of Brazil.  This seasoned songwriter has a great future ahead as he can meet all the needs for today’s audiences of any style and language.

His musical experience of more than 50 years makes him a fountain of knowledge in the Latin Music genre as well as many other forms of musical compositions.  Manny is currently two CDs one of his latest Tropical rhythms and his latest CD of Sambas and Bossa Novas and it’s sure to awake your senses.
