Bio: Who’s the R&B male singer/songwriter in Houston, Tx that has everyone talking ? “Ra~Shawn” is the answer. When not being hired for modeling gigs, this R&B sensation from the southwest, is recording songs to get many clubs poppin’ in this southern region. Born Jamien Arvie to a musically trained mother and a unsupportive, absent at times Father, Ra~Shawn used singing & songwriting to get through long tough nights. Singing was the outlet, that 12 yrs old, Ra~Shawn needed to pass time while dealing with family issues. Whether in class or volunteering at school plays, Ra~Shawn amazed the masses. Constanly being egged by his classmates to perform, Ra~Shawn name soon began to circulated. After years of vocal training by his mother, the young 19 yr old recorded his first single “3rd Coast”. Finally enjoying success on this local single, the constant booking of clubs/radio venues/ and birthday parties soon followed.. Now at 23 yrs of age, Ra~Shawn has evolved into that R&B sensation. Press Release: Ra~Shawn is from Houston, Texas. He’s began singing and songwriting at the age of 12. His forte is R & B and at the ripe age of 23, he’s grown into the nickname,‘King Of The Southwest’. Ra~Shawn released his first CD at the age of 17 titled, “Get Wet”. Since that release, he has developed in his style of writing and a clearer vision and confidence. His sound is more physical and direct. His new lead single, “Bring It To The Floor”, is off of his new CD, “To Love…or Party?”. Ra~Shawn says that this title came from party goers running to the dance floor to dance and challenging their partners to show them their fancy foot work. The theme is crystal clear - Let’s Party!! After a long weeks work, it’s time to let loose. This song is a signature style for Ra~Shawn. He shows his talent in recording, arrangement and above all sustainability. His vocals are sultry, smooth - the songs he records are soft, fun, serious and light hearted.
