BIOGRAPHY FOR THE CAT (CHEETAH AND TIGER)
The Cat is a duet band which has been together for approximately 6 years.
The band consists of two members, Cheetah (Liz Wade) and Tiger (Johnny Tai.) As well as the CAT’s own endeavours, we have been asked at various times by local singers and bands to assist them in their various diverse projects.
Currently, the CAT is associated with mp3.com as well as stationmp3.com and cdbaby.com; we have also been in contact with many fellow artists and fans throughout the U.S. and to a lesser extent within Canada itself. We have also been complimented by famous artists, (such as Emily Richards and John Virag) as a unique and talented band. In this short three year span, the CAT has received about 8,000 song-plays on mp3.com; we have also gained respect and notoriety from a wide network of fans.
Style: pop, folk, soft rock etc.
To be more specific, our style is very unique in comparison with other contemporary bands. We encode sound effects into our recordings to build plots in order for the songs to convey their own stories.
Our recordings consist of cover songs, as well as those which we create ourselves. Both members are great vocalists; our instrumental accompaniment consists of: two clarinets, alto saxophone, acoustic/electric guitar, piano, organ, keyboard, alto and regular recorder, drums, baritone saxophone and an I.B.M. computer. Many of our recordings reveal serious matters in life such as reality, romance and bitterness, but some can be rather funny in their own comical ways. The Tiger can also perform in two different languages, (English and Mandarin.)
