Steve Sebby
Bio:
Description: Full bodied acoustic rock with experimental tones and soulful lyrics. Bio: Three years of rocking house in Carbondale and various places, peppering the country with sweet, sweet acoustic rock and roll has now brought me here. I spent my college career playing shows with my good friend Phil Powell.....perhaps I should start from the beginning. After a brief stint in the Marine Corps, I set out to broaden my spectrum of knowledge at Southern Illinois University. There I started my career as a solo live musician, getting whatever shows that I could get with the limited amount of networking that I had done upon my arrival. I soon met J.D. Blair who would act as manager from then on, until our paths split years later. We frequented open mics and played dive bars until we ran into Phil Powell, a lead man with a soulful blues background. After trying a show as a duo to see how it would go, I decided that my solo career could wait. It sounded too good to pass up. J.D. eventually came across an opportunity to live in Jax Beach, Florida, where he proceeded to book shows for us. It was time for a Florida tour. We spent a few months playing east coast towns in Florida all the way up to Savanna Georgia. There, we learned the good and the bad of playing music for a living. The good outweighed the bad by a long shot, but we still ran out of money. Phil and I went back to Illinois while J.D. stayed in Florida. It was time to resume life as usual where we picked up a drummer who grew up on jazz. Dan Petrella said that he could add a much needed sound to our band, so we took his word for it. He was right, and was promptly brought on as our drummer. As a trio, we made our first broadcast radio debut on college radio, a few internet radio stations, and our first television debut on a PBS show called "Studio A Presents." We continued to play as much as we could until my college career came to an end. Our last few shows, with a new bass player named Alan to complete the band, were farewell shows. The band "Kerouline," sadly, is no more. My solo career is right where I left it, and I'm here to pick it up and carry on
